Dana Carvey Barbara Bush Carly Simon celebrate big ones this monthth
June 2
Dana Carvey, 60: He was a hit on Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1993, performing characters such as the Church Lady and spot-on impersonations of the first President Bush. He said recently, “When I’m nervous, I’ll do George Bush Sr. to calm me down.”
June 6
Sandra Bernhard, 60: Her latest show, Sandra Bernhard Is #Blessed, is a mix of saucy cabaret and acerbic commentary. One appreciative critic described the actress and singer as “authentic, unapologetically pissed, heartbroken and, of course, hilarious.” June 8
Barbara Bush, 90: The popular former first lady (and first mom) once said, “We’ve had enough Bushes” in the White House.” Oops. Earlier this year she announced that she had changed her mind and started fundraising for son Jeb.
June 10
Elizabeth Hurley, 50: She likes the silly roles, costarring in the Austin Powers movies and vamping as a sexy modern-day queen in this year’s E! series The Royals (about “a bunch of bed-hopping half-wits,” as one critic put it). June 13
Christo, 80: The Bulgarian-born artist, whose wife and partner Jeanne-Claude died in 2009, is famous for eye-popping projects — such as wrapping in fabric the Reichstag building in Berlin. Planned for next June: an installation of floating walkways around an Italian lake. June 15
Julie Hagerty, 60: She was unforgettable as the daffy flight attendant in 1980’s Airplane! (a role she reprised, with a wink, in Old Navy ads). She’s since performed onstage and in guest roles on TV shows such as Family Guy and CSI.
June 20
Anne Murray, 70: The Canadian singer (“You Needed Me”) and avid golfer seems to be enjoying a low-key life up north these days. A recent tweet: “A golf game and a movie all before 6:00. Gotta love retirement.” June 25
Carly Simon, 70: Here’s hoping the singer will finally reveal publicly who the subject of “You’re So Vain” is in her upcoming memoir. It’s surely not ex-husband James Taylor. “I will never love anyone again so much or in the same way,” she recently said about Taylor.
June 26
Mick Jones, 60: This isn’t the Mick Jones of Foreigner fame, but the British guitarist and singer with the Clash, the legendary punk-rock band who sang “Rock the Casbah.” A few years ago he remastered the band’s classic albums and released them as a box set called Sound System. Are You a Gemini
