You’ve worked hard for a place to call home, a family, a job, and maybe a few extras. But life’s still calling. Finding the time to focus on your future is particularly important for women, who generally have more years to cover in retirement with fewer resources.

While there is grave need to improve awareness of long-term care planning among all boomers – women, in particular, face significant challenges with living independently as they age.

The Women to Women program is about more than making wise financial decisions – it’s about planning for how and where you’ll live your life. It’s looking at your home and community, your health care needs, and your wishes about future medical care.

The program encourages women to start planning and think broadly about their resources and options. Prompting women to talk with those close to them about what they envision for their future and taking actions today, may increase the likelihood that women will have more choices in the future. Planning early is one of the smartest decisions a woman can make.

AARP Oregon, with support from Providence ElderPlace and Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services, is sponsoring Women to Women: Living Longer, Living Smarter. This is a community forum designed by and for women who want to build a successful life strategy for the future. Join us for this exciting event to get the most out of life for a safe, healthy and secure tomorrow.
