AARP Celebrates Pride in Local Communities
Local groups LGBTQ organizations participate in June parades and festivals

Throughout June, AARP is joining with local LGBT organizations around the country to celebrate Pride Month through festivals, parades and spring walks. Highlights include riding a trolley in the Chicago Pride Parade on June 25 and, for the fifth year, sponsorship of the Boomertown section of the Twin Cities Pride Festival, one of the largest such gatherings in the nation. Boomertown is aimed at the 50-plus community and features nonprofits that advocate on aging issues and are active in the LGBT community.
