Talking Caregiving With Morgan Fairchild

AARP expert Amy Goyer is a guest on the actress' show ' Baby Boomers in America'

Courtesy of Lifetime Amy Goyer and Morgan Fairchild on "Baby Boomers in America" I recently had the pleasure of meeting Morgan Fairchild, the Texas-born actress and now host of the TV show Baby Boomers in America. I'll be on an episode of the show, airing Nov. 12 and Dec. 3 (see details below), to discuss my book, AARP's , and the challenges of family caregiving with Fairchild. She and I have something in common: We both have been caregivers for our parents. Fairchild, 66, and her younger sister, Cathryn Hartt, spent years juggling their care. They did as much as they could; sometimes one would be there in person while the other offered support from a distance, or they would split their time between their dad at his home and the facility where their mom lived after a stroke. They also tried to provide those things that meant a lot to their parents, like driving their dad around a nearby lake that he loved. I can imagine how that brought him joy.

Sadly, the day her mother passed away she was away working. I, and every other caregiver, can identify with that feeling of being torn in different directions, wishing we could be two places at once (or have more hours in the day). To watch the show and hear some of my top tips for caregivers, tune in to Baby Boomers in America on Lifetime TV and Lifetime HD on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m. ET/PT, and/or on Lifetime Real Women on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 8:30 a.m. ET.
