Medical Mutual of Ohio won the contract in competitive bidding to operate the state’s high-risk pool. In its proposal, Medical Mutual estimated that it expects to cover up to 5,500 individuals, paying a standard rate premium for their coverage, with the $152 million in federal funds that the program will receive through 2014.
