Affordable Care Act programs gear up to help consumers shop for health insurance

More than 48 million Americans don't have . That staggering number may soon drop, thanks in part to the 's health insurance marketplaces, which will open this fall and allow people who have been priced out of the individual-insurance market to compare and choose from a variety of health insurance options.

host Lark McCarthy examines how the marketplaces — often referred to as health insurance exchanges — will work. In the video playlist (above) she speaks with , the Democratic governor of Arkansas, who is implementing his state's health care exchange; , secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and , former director of the Consumer Information Office at the Department of Health and Human Services.
