About AARP Tax Aide AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. It is available to taxpayers with low- and moderate-incomes and gives special attention to individuals age 60 and older. Offered in coordination between the AARP Foundation and Internal Revenue Service, Tax-Aide volunteers are trained to assist with filing the 1040 form and the more standard of the schedules, including Schedules A and B. Prepare for Your Meeting with AARP Tax-Aide Before meeting with an AARP Tax-Aide volunteer, please compile the following information and bring it with you to the AARP Tax-Aide site: Social Security Numbers/Cards for yourself and your dependents W-2 Forms from each employer Unemployment compensation statements All forms 1099 (1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-misc) showing interest and/or dividends as well as documentation showing the original purchase price of the sold assets All forms indicating federal income tax withheld or paid Child care provider information (name, employer ID, Social Security Numbers.
