In 2021, we released our inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Report. This year, we are sharing our second D&I Report, which reaffirms the prior commitments made, shares an update on our progress, and previews the work we intend to accomplish in the coming year. In addition to living our commitment to transparency and ensuring that associates and leaders are accountable, this report will provide updates on the commitments below: at all levels. by removing the barriers that can deter or delay it. by participating in efforts addressing systemic issues that drive inequalities. Through our major hiring campaign, we welcomed more than 16,600 new associates to Fidelity in 2021. This hiring provided a tremendous opportunity for the increase in our gender and ethnic diversity. We also expanded our hiring efforts into new geographic regions beyond our existing footprint, which allowed us to intentionally tap into new and diverse talent pools. In addition to continuing the established programs that have focused on talent diversity and development, this past year we launched a new Self-ID program, created an Inclusive Hiring Practices Hub, established a Customer Inclusion Team, and launched several enterprise-wide learning modules for associates and leaders. We are continuing to actively listen and evolve our efforts to meet the needs of our associates and customers.
