Take some seaweed nori sheets, add a touch of sesame oil, and bake until you get the most delicious super crunchy chips on earth! JUMP TO RECIPE Nori Chips
The first time I tried nori chips, I bought a package at a healthy store. Each nori triangle was crispy, delicious, salty, and crunchy. Pretty much addictive! But they contained far too much vegetable oil to be able to call them healthy. Plus, they were pretty expensive, considering the package contained only a few chips. So, I decided to have a go at recreating a similar recipe while transforming these chips into a healthy snack that I could have every day! FREE MEAL PLANNER

Making nori chips couldn't be easier. You need a few simple ingredients: A few nori seaweed sheets: You can find these in Asian food stores or even on Amazon.Sesame oil: I prefer to use sesame oil for its rich, nutty flavor, but extra virgin olive oil works well too.Toppings: Here, you can pretty much use your imagination. I love adding sesame seeds on top of my nori chips, a sprinkle of extra dried seaweeds, and a touch of dried chili. But feel free to use any spices or herbs like smoked paprika, garam masala, dried oregano, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, or a touch of sea salt. How to make nori chips
Stack 3 nori sheets on top of each other and cut them into squares using scissors, a sharp knife, or a pizza cutter. Then cut each square into triangles to resemble nachos.Using a pastry brush, lightly brush each nori chip with a tiny amount of sesame oil on one side. At this point, you have two options to crisp your nori chips: Option 1
Oven: Preheat the oven to 300F (150C), place the chips on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, add the sesame seeds on top. Bake in the middle rack of the oven for 8 to 10 minutes, but keep an eye on them as they can quickly burn and get a bitter taste. Then remove immediately from the oven and let them cool down. Add any additional toppings (chili flakes, extra seaweeds, etc.) and enjoy! Option 2
Pan: If you can't be bothered to use the oven, you can use a pan to crisp the seaweeds. Add the pan to medium-high heat, add a layer of nori triangles, and let it crisp for 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove from the pan and add your favorite toppings. How to store nori chips
I prefer nori chips as soon as they are made. They are super crispy and crunchy. But they store pretty well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Just make sure they are completely cool before closing the container. How to keep nori chips crispy for days
The best way to keep nori chips crispy for longer is to keep those moisture-absorbent silica gel packs that come with the nori sheets. Simply place those in the airtight container to help to absorb the moisture and keep it away from your chips. Why I love these toasted nori chips
