Born on the 8th of November, 1988, Busiswa Gqulu, also known as Busiswa or Busi is a South African singer, songwriter and poet.
She was born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape but her family had to relocate to Durban when she was still young. At the age of 15, Gqulu grew a deep passion for writing poems and performed her first work at her grandmother's funeral.
She joined the collective Young Basadzi Women of Poetry in 2005 and since then, has performed her poetry at poem sessions, corporate events, festivals and talent shows.
