Gemma Day Gemma Day Two of our best friends, Caroline and Rachel, bought this Cartier alarm clock for my partner Robert and me. I have to wake up at 4.45am every day for work, and I would never allow a phone in my bedroom at night, so good old-fashioned alarm clocks are essential for me. Gemma Day I collect crockery: green glassware and Astier de Villatte, which is handmade and incredibly fragile. When friends come for dinner we joke about how many we will smash but I don’t believe in keeping things for best. Gemma Day Santal 33 by Le Labo is the scent I’ve been wearing for about three years. I love that it’s not masculine or feminine; I think it smells like a beautiful hotel. People stop me in the street to ask me what I’m wearing. Gemma Day Robert and I have been together for nearly 19 years. We are big fans of the Lego Architecture series. I let him do most of the hard work of putting it together, then I look at it afterwards and go, ‘Ooh, that’s pretty!’ I’m always looking out for new pieces to construct. Gemma Day Writing my book Get the Look wasn’t enjoyable – I had to style 90 outfits and art-direct it, too. I even found the launch stressful! Now it sits proudly on my coffee table. At school they said I was the most dyslexic person they’d come across, so it’s a big achievement. Gemma Day I bought this Burberry scarf in 2001, when I didn’t have much money and was getting established. It felt like a big treat to have something designer. But to justify having spent so much – £200 – I never took it off. I’m even wearing it in my first publicity shots. Gemma Day My two amazing younger sisters, Karen and Carly, work together as wedding photographers in Scotland. I am ridiculously close to them both. This photo of us all was taken at Karen’s wedding – I love getting in a kilt from time to time. Gemma Day This painting is by a Mexican artist who lived below Robert and me when we got our first flat together. We both fell in love with it. We’ve hung it in our gym. His physique encourages me to do another set!
