YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity This Netflix Christmas movie is being hailed as the new Love Actually By You Magazine - October 23, 2019 Every year, Netflix celebrates the festive season by treating us all to a number of new, original Christmas movies. And while some might describe them as cheesy, we’d call them lovely, wholesome and just what we want to snuggle up with on a cold winter night. Netflix Sure, many of them have their cringey moments (and the movie posers certainly don’t help) but that’s what makes them such a guilty pleasure. Romance and Christmas go hand in hand and so far, the streaming service is nailing it. In fact, their latest addition to the festive films collection looks like their best one yet. New Netflix original Let It Snow was announced by the streaming service along with a trailer that has filled festive fans with some major excitement. The film has already been dubbed ‘the new Love Actually‘ which as we all know, is a huge claim to make. So can it live up to it? Well, judging by the trailer, Let It Snow follows a similar story pattern to the much-loved Christmas classic, only the characters are about a decade (if not more) younger – a Love Actually for the next generation, if you will. Directed by Luke Snelin, it’s based on the book Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myraclem and stars young Hollywood’s Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), as well as Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, Odeya Rush (Lady Bird, Dumplin’), Liv Hewson, Mitchell Hope and Jacob Batalon. Netflix Netflix has already revealed some details of the plot of the adaptation, explaining: ‘When a snowstorm hits a small midwestern town on Christmas Eve, a group of high school seniors find their friendships and love lives colliding thanks to a stranded pop star, a stolen keg, a squad of competitive dancers, a mysterious woman covered in tin foil, and an epic party at the local Waffle Town.’ We don’t know about you, but we’ve got high hopes for this one!
