Where will we be jetting off to for a winter break this year? As always, the options are endless. From tropical island escapes like Mauritius to long-haul city breaks that won’t take up too much of your annual leave, holidaymakers have the world at their feet. Getty Images Luckily, Skyscanner has revealed the top winter sun destinations that are warming up in terms of weather, but going down in price when it comes to holidays. The popular travel site has used its insightful flight price data to find the best destinations to visit this season and much to our delight, they have listed them all in a new section on their app titled ‘Escape the Cold’, making it easier than ever for us to plan our next trip. Whether you fancy a bustling trip to Cambodia or a chilled-out beach getaway in Egypt, the destinations on offer are pretty impressive. Here are just a few examples… London Stansted to Marrakech, return flight price £77. Departing 20th November, returning 27th November. London Heathrow to Phnom Penh, return flight price £319. Departing 2nd December, returning 16th December. London Gatwick to Rio de Janeiro, return flight price £480. Departing 20th January, returning 31st January. London Gatwick to Buenos Aires, return flight price £565. Departing 10th February, returning 25th February. Getty Images Commenting on the deals, Rachelle Garnham from Skyscanner said: ‘As we head into winter we begin to see an uplift in searches for long haul destinations as travellers start to seek the warmth of far off climes, therefore to help travellers enjoy the sun but also save some money, we decided to use our data insights to create our new Escape the Cold feature within our app. ‘Looking at the data findings, South America is featuring strongly with Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires appearing as value hot spots most months.
