This plight was recently aired on Twitter by @naanking, who wrote: ‘does anyone on the entire internet want to suggest a summer dress for ppl who wear bras’. The tweet quickly went viral, racking up over 42,000 likes and nearly 600 comments (and counting). https://twitter.com/naanking/status/1391802359890599937 Her plea for a simple summer dress that’s both cute and possible to be worn with a bra resonated with women everywhere, who took to the comments to share their recommendations of where they find the best bra-friendly dresses on the internet. For those with smaller chests who are able to go bra-free, move along. For those women who don’t have the option to go sans bra and still feel comfortable and secure, read on. We scoured the Twitter thread for the best bra-friendly dress brand recommendations and have rounded them up below, along with a few of our own suggestions from the high street. 15 bra-friendly dresses for summer Free People Embroidered Fable Dress, £158, Free People This dress was recommended by a commenter on the Twitter thread: ‘This is my favorite dress of all time. Boden Betty Maxi Shirt Dress – Marina, £140, Boden Boden was also recommended as a go-to brand for bra-friendly dresses. This colour-blocked sensation has us immediately thinking of ice cream sundaes and a shirt dress means buttons can be undone to allow for a bigger cleavage. Bravissimo Kimono Maxi Dress, £35 (was £70), Bravissimo Where else to look for bra-friendly dresses than the home of underwear for big-boobed women, Bravissimo? ASOS ASOS DESIGN Curve midi smock dress with shirred cuffs in dobby in blue, £38, ASOS Not only is this dress super pretty and affordable, there are nearly 300 dresses to shop in the ASOS Curve range (which spans UK sizes 16-30). KITRI Lucia Pink Animal Heart Dress, £145, KITRI One of our favourite independent brands, KITRI has lots of dresses that make wearing a bra easy. This is a rare sleeveless dress that makes bra-wearing completely possible by the use of thicker shoulder straps. H&M V-neck dress, £24.99, H&M Another sleeveless marvel, this H&M find has thick enough straps to mask bra straps and, while the back is low, it’s not low enough to reveal the back of a bra. Nobody’s Child LENZING TM ECOVERO TM Curve Pink and White Ditsy Rosie Midi Dress, £45, Nobody’s Child Ethical fashion brand Nobody’s Child recently released an extended sizes range to cover sizes 18-24, so now more women can shop their extremely pretty dresses, most of which are perfectly accommodating for bras. Abercrombie & Fitch Easy Waist Mini Dress, £59, Abercrombie & Fitch Interestingly, Abercrombie & Fitch was another brand recommended by a commenter on Twitter for dresses that accommodate for bra-wearing. Mister Zimi Winifred Midi Dress In Black Gingham, $189 AUD (£104.34 approx), Mister Zimi This Australian brand (that ships internationally) was recommended by someone on Twitter, who said: ‘I have several from this Australian store. I wear a 34DD. Can wear a bra with most of their dresses. Dresses are pricey but the shipping is fast from AUS. 5/5 recommend. They even say if dress is “bra friendly”’. M&S Linen Square Neck Midi Waisted Dress, £39.50, M&S Good old M&S – not only does this dress feature lovely wide straps to conceal bra straps, it comes in short, regular and long lengths and ranges sizes 6-22. Aritzia Market Dress, $78 CAD (£45.65 approx), Aritzia Another recommendation from the Twitter thread, Canadian brand Aritzia do this tank dress in a range of colours so if you find it works for you, you can stock up. It’s been noted on Twitter that, while it may not work for bigger chests, it certainly is perfect for hiding any sign of a bra strap. Anthropologie Kirei Smocked Maxi Dress, £138, Anthropologie Anthropologie is great for loose, floaty dresses, so it’s no wonder it was suggested as a go-to bra-friendly dress brand. Next Square Neck Dress, £30, Next A square neckline that’s not too wide is perfect for concealing bra straps, making bra-wearing totally doable in this pretty dress. Plus, it comes in regular and tall lengths and sizes 6-22. Zara Printed mini dress, £29.99, Zara This Zara dress is great for bra-wearing for three reasons: 1) it has buttons to allow for bigger boobs, 2) long sleeves mean no chance of a bra strap in sight and 3) it proves that a bra-friendly dress doesn’t have to be maxi in length.
