YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity This is the song Meghan and Harry had their first dance to By You Magazine - August 3, 2020 Who can believe it was over two years ago that we all huddled around our TVs to watch Prince Harry and Meghan tie the knot back in May 2018? As the whole ceremony was televised, we were able to ohh and ahh at all the gorgeous details, from the dress and the flowers to the choir and the heartfelt vows, but the reception that followed later that day at Frogmore House was a much more secretive affair, as they normally are when it comes to royal weddings. REX/Shutterstock Which means many of the details of what happened later in the day have been left purely to speculation, however we do now know what song the newlywed couple had their first dance to. So much has happened since Harry and Meghan took their vows at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, including welcoming their first child, Archie, into the world last year and then stepping back as senior royals earlier this year and moving to LA, but when new details of their wedding come to light we love to revisit the day and gobble up any new details we might have missed or not been privy to until now. REX/Shutterstock And thanks to the soon to be published biography of the couple, Finding Freedom, we’re now finding out myriad new titbits about the royal couple’s relationship, life and, of course, the wedding. REX/Shutterstock According to the authors, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Harry and Meghan chose the romantic number ‘I’m in Love’ by Wilson Pickett for their first dance as a newly married couple. They write that the couple ‘were joyful on the big day – with their first dance to ‘I’m in Love’ by ’60s soul singer Wilson Pickett. Meghan also delivered her own toast at the reception.’ No stranger to breaking traditions, it’s no surprise that Meghan also chose to give a toast at the reception, as Scobie and Durand also revealed in the book. It sounds like it was a reception to remember.
