YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity BBC’ s Dublin Murders is the perfect new series for crime thriller fans By You Magazine - October 14, 2019 Now that the temperature is dropping and the autumnal blankets and candles are slowly making their way back out, we’re more ready than ever to take on a riveting new TV series – and the BBC has the perfect option this year. Dublin Murders is the psychological thriller to watch this October, and you may have already heard of the books it has been based on, by Irish-American writer Tana French. Her series of novels, which cover the murder investigations unit of the Dublin police, has inspired the new show and its thrilling storylines. BBC Set in Dublin and the countryside surrounding the city, French’s books cover the recent history of Ireland, and touches on a number of socioeconomic issues. With the background set, the storylines see a different member of the murder squad taking centre stage as the protagonist and a new murder developing in each book. The TV series covers two of the books: In The Woods, and The Likeness. The stories are told by Detective Rob Ryan (changed to Rob Reilly in the series) and Detective Cassie Maddox, respectively. Ryan is played by Killian Scott, while Sarah Greene (who will also feature in the upcoming film adaptation of Sally Rooney’s hit novel Normal People) stars as Cassie. BBC The plot sees a young ballet dancer being murdered shortly after she had just been accepted to the Royal Ballet School in England. The 13-year-old is found on an altar in the woods, which her eerie father was campaigning to save. The TV show is creepy and tense, and done in a very clever way that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Luckily, you won’t have to wait long at all to start watching the thrilling new series, as it begins tonight (14th October) on BBC One at 9pm. From then, it will air on Mondays and Tuesdays.
