But have you ever thought your recipes were good enough to feature in an actual cookbook? If the answer is yes, Jamie Oliver is launching a new TV show that you’ll definitely be interested in. Alamy Taking to Instagram on 6 September, Jamie Oliver shared a video that revealed he is searching for a new cookbook star. In it, he says: ‘Guys, I’ve got the most exciting news ever! Have you ever thought you’ve got what it takes to write your very own cookbook? Me and Channel 4 are gonna do the most incredible cookery show, where we find the next big cookery author. ‘The winner gets their very own cookbook,’ he continued. ‘So it doesn’t matter who you are, where you are around the whole of Britain, it doesn’t matter if you’re a chef, a baker, a home cook, we want to know about you if what you’ve got is authentic and real. It doesn’t matter what the book is, whether it’s a travel log, a vegetarian book, a meat book, a BBQ book, it doesn’t matter!’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jamie Oliver (@jamieoliver) Jamie concluded by saying: ‘If you’ve ever thought you’ve got what it takes, this is the show for you. I’m so excited about this and I will be with you the whole of the way. So what are you waiting for? Click the link in the bio and get involved. This is a big one! It’s real! It’s gonna be great.’ The video racked up over 269k views in three days, as well as over 18,700 likes (including one from Friends star Jennifer Aniston, surprisingly). If the comments on Jamie’s announcement are anything to go by, it’s clear people are very excited. ‘This is amazing!’ one person wrote. The thousands of comments consisted of people tagging others, expressing that they should apply to the show. According to Channel 4, the show will see would-be authors pitching their cookbook ideas and signature dishes. They then compete against each other for the chance to win. The series will consist of seven episodes, in which three finalists will create their cookbooks and one will win a publishing deal with Penguin.
