Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, who recently returned from a 10-day royal tour in South Africa, joined forces with Prince William and Kate Middleton for the launch of a new digital platform titled Every Mind Matters. Getty Images The platform, which is set up in partnership with NHS, is designed to ‘help you manage and maintain your mental health.’ The royal couples assisted in the launch by lending their voices to the campaign video which was released on Sunday (6 October). The four are heard explaining the importance of speaking up when you are struggling mentally, in the video which encourages people to make simple changes in order to prioritise their mental health with the use of Every Mind Matters. ‘Everyone knows that feeling, when life gets on top of us,’ the Duke of Cambridge says in the trailer, before Prince Harry adds: ‘We feel stressed, low, anxious or have trouble sleeping. We think there’s nothing that can be done, nothing we can do about it.’ The Duchess of Sussex then continues the script, written by screenwriter Richard Curtis, as she states: ‘But now, there’s a new way to help turn things around.’ I’m supporting the new Every Mind Matters campaign, which encourages people to take simple steps to look after their mental health, improve their mental wellbeing and support others.#mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #EveryMindMatters @NHSuk @PHE_uk pic.twitter.com/2YZFBhcrzJ - Dr Sara Kayat (@sara_kayat) October 7, 2019 ‘Every Mind Matters will show you simple ways to look after your mental health,’ follows Kate. ‘It will get you started with a free online plan designed to help you deal with stress, boost your mood, improve your sleep and make you feel more in control.’ The black and white video, directed by Rankin, stars a whole host of familiar celebrity faces including YOU magazine’s cover star Nadiya Hussian, Katie Piper, Davina McCall, Gillian Anderson, Freddie Flintoff and Sir Bradley Wiggins to name a few. Getty Images Every Mind Matters is backed by several mental health charities and champions, including Mind, Mental Health Foundation, MHFA England, Samaritans, Heads Together, Centre for Mental Health, Rethink, Time to Change, NSUN, What Works Centre for Wellbeing and Good Thinking. The film is set to air on TV at 8.45pm on Monday night across ITV, Channel 4 and Sky channels.
