YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Beauty Rihanna’ s Fenty Skin line launches in the UK this week By You Magazine - December 21, 2020 Beauty fans will no doubt already know and love Rihanna’s bestselling make-up line Fenty Beauty. Since launching in 2017, the collection has gone from strength to strength, and has an incredibly loyal army of followers. In July this year, the star launched Fenty Skin, the brand’s first venture into the world of skincare. Rihanna formally announced the launch in an interview with British Vogue earlier this spring, but the new products were only shoppable for us Brits via the US site (which incurs a lot of import tax, long shipping dates etc). But now, Rihanna has waved her magic wand and made all our dreams come true, as she’s just announced that Fenty Skin is launching in the UK in Harvey Nichols and Boots, and it’s happening very soon. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FENTY SKIN (@fentyskin) ‘You heard it from @badgalriri first! #FENTYSKIN is goin’ global, boo!’ Rihanna wrote in an Instagram post to her 84 million followers. ‘Mark ya calendars and set your alarms – on December 26th we comin’ to a @sephora, @harveynichols, and @bootsuk near you!’ While you set (several) reminders for 26 December, let’s remind ourselves of what exactly is in the Fenty Skin range. The collection is small but mighty, consisting of just four products: Total Cleans’r Remove-It-All Cleanser, Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum, Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturiser Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen and Instant Reset Overnight Recovery Gel-Cream. Each formula employs hard-working, high-quality ingredients, including intensely hydrating hyaluronic acid, niacinamide (which has anti-inflammatory properties) and vitamin C extracted form the Barbados cherry for brightening the skin. Speaking to Vogue about the new endeavour earlier this year, Rihanna revealed that she faced new challenges in launching skin products: ‘Skincare, it’s the truth. It either works or it doesn’t. There’s nowhere to hide,’ she explained. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA (@fentybeauty) It seems that the range was a long time coming, as Rihanna filed a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in March 2019. The Fenty Skin trademark covers ‘medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding color cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators,’ which means we could see the Fenty Skin line expand to include a whole lot more skin and body care products over time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by FENTY SKIN (@fentyskin) Rihanna has also revealed that she has complete control over the Fenty brand, and even gets involved at levels you may not expect. ‘I write all of the copy for the websites, the product descriptions, product names, the color names…’ she explained. ‘I do have a huge team, but I just don’t necessarily think their tone is mine. I’d feel like a fraud selling something that I can’t stand by’ – so we know Fenty Skin comes with the official RiRi seal of approval too. The 26 December can’t come soon enough.
