And it was great news for us, as snippets of the video chats were often shared on social media, giving us the chance to glimpse Kate’s lockdown wardrobe. One virtual appearance of Kate’s in particular caught our sartorial eye, when the royal led a nationwide virtual school assembly back in June, for which she chose to wear a gorgeous M&S dress. Costing just £39.50 at the time, it was already a steal, but the dress has just gone into the sale, meaning the price tag has dropped to an even more purse-friendly £15. Twitter / @OakNational It’s the brand’s Printed Yoke Midi Waisted Dress, a gorgeously breezy style that features a repeated cabbage print in blue, slightly puffed sleeves and an elasticated waistband to add structure to the floaty shape. A flouncy midi-length hemline and round neck finish off the dress, which would be spot-on perfect for wearing all summer. M&S Naturally, thanks to the amazing price and that well-documented ‘Kate effect’, sizes are disappearing fast in both the regular and long lengths of the dress, so we suggest heading to the M&S website fast to nab yourself one before they’re gone. M&S Printed Yoke Midi Waisted Dress, £15 (was £39.50), M&S Kate is no stranger to nabbing a bargain on the British high street – she recently sported a pair of £5 Accessorize earrings in a video call with Prince William to volunteers across the UK, while another recent video chat saw the Duchess don one of her favourite LK Bennett dresses for a spot of virtual bingo with care home residents. The Duchess’s pre-recorded assembly was streamed back in June via Oak National Academy, an online ‘classroom’ created in response to lockdown, which provides free video lessons and learning resources, as well as virtual assemblies every Thursday morning. Kate’s assembly centred around the topic of kindness and she spoke with pupils from Waterloo Primary Academy in Blackpool to find out what kindness means to them.
