Getty Images And while their tiny, smiley faces were definitely the highlight of the portrait, what many of us may not have noticed is why Princess Charlotte’s outfit looked so familiar. Well, it turns out even the royals believe in a cheeky hand-me-down, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s only daughter was sporting the same knitwear her older brother George wore in a previous royal portrait. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Royal Family (@theroyalfamily) For those who weren’t paying attention, Charlotte very sweetly wore a navy cardigan over a corduroy skirt. However, the cardigan in question is the exact same as the one George wore in the Queen’s birthday portrait with her grandchildren back in April 2016. But unlike Charlotte, George rocked the cute cardigan over a crisp white shirt and paired it with red shorts. MORE: This is why the royal family were laughing in Prince Charles’ birthday pictures While we for one can admit that hand-me-downs from our siblings weren’t exactly our favourite thing as children, Princess Charlotte doesn’t look the slightest bit phased about being given her brother’s old garms. In fact, her cheeky grin says quite the opposite. And that’s not the only repeat item in the snap – Prince Louis’ blue shoes are said to be the same ones worn by Prince George at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo during his first royal tour of Australia and New Zealand, all the way back in 2014.
