Live Better With, an award-winning healthcare platform that makes day-to-day life better for people living with long-term health conditions, has launched a free forum where cancer patients and their loved ones can find practical and emotional support for treatments and side effects, providing them with a valuable resource throughout their cancer journey. Getty image The website has conducted research which shows the value that sharing experiences and knowledge can have for those whose lives have been impacted by cancer, which found that the process helps them to cope better with the challenges that they’re facing. It is hoped that the new community will give thousands of people – both patients themselves, and their family and friends – the chance to discuss and open up about their experiences, and face cancer together, augmenting the professional care they’re already receiving. Live Better With has also curated a community panel of ‘Cancer Experts’, who range from nutritionists, fitness professionals, authors and notable voices in the cancer community. These experts will lead weekly AMAs (Ask Me Anything) centred upon an array of different topics and subject matters, to give personal advice on everything from diet to mindfulness techniques. The launch is just one of a string of offerings Live Better With have created to support people with cancer. The start-up opened the UK’s first ever store specifically for cancer patients last year at the cancer centre in Guy’s Hospital, and unveiled a travel insurance product for cancer patients earlier this year.
