In fact, most of the gossip would go down in the smoking areas. Now, absolutely zero smoking is shown on screen and apparently smokers are even sent to smoke on their own just outside of the villa. Ultimately, discouraging smoking and not showing it on telly is a good thing for sure, but it does make me wonder – what gossip could we be missing out on? 2 And drinking has been limited over the past few seasons ITV2 Who remembers islanders getting absolutely pissed in the first couple of seasons? And what kind of holiday in Mallorca doesn't involved a few too many glasses of prosecco? Like the smoking, the limited drinking is understandable, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want just one night of drunken debauchery. 3 Even though they ve used the same villa for the last couple of seasons the original one was different ITV2 The current villa seems to be a bit more luxurious and trendy, but the bedroom seems to be smaller and narrower, with all of the beds lined up in a row. Remember the old villa where the beds were opposite each other? I mean how else do islanders watch each other "doing bits"?????!!!!! 4 Speaking of doing bits contestants seem to be a bit more careful about their sexual endeavours ITV2 The Emma and Terry scandal (they can't show me if I'm on top of the covers!) would never happen now. Maybe the sheer horror of that scene scared everyone into some kind of renewed virginity? Love Islanders are still hitting bases, but it seems to be a bit more innocent than previous seasons, where shagging was simply rife. 5 Things used to get waaaay more heated ITV2 Remember in the first series where things blew up between Jess and Bethany? And when Sam got in Chris' face after he cracked on with Olivia? Islanders in previous seasons have come close to blows things have gotten that heated. With Sherif claiming that he was kicked out of the villa for accidentally kicking Molly- Mae in the groin during a playfight, it's clear that there are super strict rules in place that will prevent anything going further that a strong waving of a plastic wine glass. 6 And way more wild ITV2 Nudity is apparently not allowed in the villa, with islanders supposedly having to wear their swimsuit even when they shower. But back in series one, it clearly wasn't an issue when Hannah Elizabeth lifted up her top in excitement around some very buff butlers wielding squirty cream. God that was a great episode. 7 Islanders seem to know when things are about to happen – showing that there seems to be more and more producer interference ITV2 They used to be genuinely shocked when they got a text, because they were always in the middle of genuine conversations. Watching the current season it seems very clear that islanders know roughly what's happening to them and when. Every conversation before a text seems to be contrived, and every reaction barely registers surprise. Take Maura's reaction to receiving a text about going on a date with two new boys after she was left out of the recoupling – wouldn't you be screaming about this unexpected second chance? 8 And they seem to share the same clothes from the same brands ITV2 I mean LOOK at what Hannah Elizabeth is wearing in this photo! Will we ever get to witness anything so glorious again? Everyone just seems to be wearing the same clothes in different colours and then rotating them. It's a smart move, and no doubt means we can purchase everything we see them wear, but for the love of god I would like to see someone wear a nice dress from Topshop OR a ridiculously naff swimsuit, and not a lurid green g-string bikini that you have to fish out of your fanny. 9 More announcements and surprises come through texts than through Caroline Flack ITV2ITV2 She still presents all of the big bits, like the recoupling results, but it seems a lot of announcements and instructions now come through the form of TEXXXXTTTTSSSS!! I would say "Poor Flackers" but I think she has the best job in the entire world, and I reckon she knows it. 10 The last day in the villa used to take form of a mock wedding ITV2 The move to more of a prom-like ceremony makes way more sense and is a lot less bizarre, but it IS less entertaining. If they didn't have a mock wedding in series one, we would have never seen John sort-of-propose to Hannah! That was peak reality TV Imho. We'll have to wait and see if the current season goes down the prom route, but I'm hoping they'll switch it up and make them go on stag and hen dos. (You're welcome to the free idea ITV).
