Danny and Jourdan going was a bit sad – I just felt bad that Jourdan didn’t really get her time in the show. I think she could have been a really good character, but because she coupled up with Danny she didn’t stand much of a chance. Lucie and George leaving was a bit sad since Lucie has been there since the beginning, but I think it was their time to go. They weren’t coupled up anymore and Lucie was still hung up on Tommy. George didn’t bring much to the table either, bless him. View this photo on Instagram Instagram: @undefined Ben: Oh Danny boy! The people have spoken and as well as sending another lass packing you’ve also booked yourself on that easyjet flight back to Luton airport. Danny really didn’t offer anything for me, I felt like Jourdan, if given time, could have been alright but she was never going to make it to favourite status as long as she was with Danny. Yes, Lucie was an original islander, am I bothered about her leaving? Absolutely not. I felt for her at times when the other girls were ganging up on her a bit and I understand that if you really do like someone it’s hard to turn them feels off but after the fifth or sixth time of confessing her feelings to Tommy, and then having a little cry it did get a bit old. George, we hardly knew yet but TBH as Lucie alludes to from his sheer lack of chat, we weren’t missing much. Amy Leaves ITV2 Ben: Poor old Amy, she’s had enough! This was actually proper sad. I’ve never been the biggest fan of Amy – her relationship with Curtis often had me reaching for the sick bucket – but you’ve got to admire the way she carried herself in this situation. She’s done exactly the right thing here and went about it in a very mature way, explaining to old Curt that she needs to leave so the both of them can move on with their lives. Yes, Curtis shed a tear and his eyes were all puffy, but from an audience perspective he couldn’t even give her a nice little sentence about their relationship. He just sat there and weakly murmured “you can’t go” a few times — maybe it's just because he’s used to doing the talking with those snake hips, but I suspect he really didn’t care about Amy at all, and was just coupled up with her out of convenience. I will be waiting for the inevitable post-Love Island autobiography to find the truth. Josie: Wow, I genuinely mean this when I say that Amy deciding to leave the villa was powerful TV. The girl has been on a rollercoaster ride, and while she wasn’t always my favourite character, I respect her massively for making this decision and explaining it so eloquently, first to Curtis, and then to the rest of the Islanders. I managed to fight back the tears, but so many of my friends text me to say that they couldn’t do the same. I really feel for Amy - she genuinely went in full throttle with Curtis. Falling in love for the first time is a powerful experience and she was doing it with a guy who eventually decided he wasn’t feeling the same - we’ve all been there! I’m really quite weirdly proud of her for holding herself the way she did and going out on her terms. Snaps to Amy! Sexy Dance Challenge ITV2 Ben: The lap dance challenge is pure gold. Not only are they having to awkwardly perform lap dances on each other, they also add in the element of the heart rate monitor to determine who basically made who the most horny. Throw in the fact that some Islanders don’t really see eye-to-eye and it makes this one of the best challenges on the show. Two of my personal highlights from this challenge – Michael's blood pumping more for his old flame Amber than it did for Joanna, and of course Curtis’ saucy samba. As a professional ballroom dancer I was expecting big things from Curtis and he did not disappoint, dressed like some sort of dodgy uncle at a Brazilian carnival he had me in stitches from the minute he swung in. ITV2 Josie: I’ve been crying out for the producers to give us a fun challenge to cut through the drama of the last few weeks and this was it. The sexy dance challenge is always simultaneously very awkward and very...enlightening? It’s a special kind of torture and definitely one of the things that would put me off going into the villa myself. Having previously not had any romantic feelings for Anton, this made me reconsider...The other stand-out moments from this challenge were definitely Michael's heart-rate increasing the most for Amber, and Curtis'... well, whatever Curtis did. Maura had teased some sort of surprise for her dance, and I was horrified to see that it was to kiss Curtis. While I'm sure it was a very sexy moment, I just didn't need to see that. The Newbies ITV2 Josie: When I first saw Chris I was getting strong Jimmy Newtron vibes from him. That quiff was a bit much to take on at first, but after seeing him do a roly-poly into the sexy dance challenge my mind was changed — this guy could be quite fun. I feel like he's probably the guy that you end up fancying out of your friendship group because he's just got something about him. Fran seems nice but oh dear god why does she fancy Curtis?! What is going on?! Has he just got something that doesn’t translate over TV?! IMO, I saw so much more chemistry between her and Ovie anyway. Ben: We really needed some big saucy characters to liven up the villa and get the people who aren’t coupled up heart's racing. Chris was giving me weird vibes, he wasn’t the heartthrob I was expecting and hoping for – I felt like he would probably just fade into the background, only to be voted out in a week or two, much like the Georges and Toms of the villa. Surprisingly though his personality is kind of great, he’s got a bit of a weird goofy vibe and I feel like if she was still in the villa might have been good for Amy, but alas that ship has sailed. Fran seems to have a good vibe – she’s got a real dry sense of humour and definitely isn’t afraid of taking the piss out of herself. Her date with Ovie got me praying that finally he would have someone in the house for him and could take his rightful place as King of the Villa but for some mad reason she seems to fancy Curtis, which is crazy to me. But even more crazy that she she also fancies Marvin, who seems to have about as much game my 87 year old gran. The Second Recoupling ITV2 Ben: I was severely disappointed with this recoupling — it’s got to the point where i’m just like we know Molly and Tommy are gonna couple up so maybe just go straight to the unknowns. Fran picked bloody Curtis, who I still can’t understand how anyone can fancy, leaving Maura devastated. I just don't know how real Maura’s feelings are – she's actually really hard to read, and I keep flitting between thinking she’s playing a game and really feeling for him. Whatever she’s doing I fucking love it, she is the source of all drama and never ceases to shock, so I hope she’s in it till the end. Josie: Meh — the only surprise about this was Fran picking Curtis, which at first felt like a bold move, but the girls gotta do what her heart wants. Curtis is definitely revelling in the fact that he's the most wanted guy right now. Belle and Anton s break-up ITV2 Josie: I'm going to be honest here: if Belle had seen the footage of Anton giving his number to the shop assistant, I don't think she would have been bothered. It was quite clearly a joke and not something that either him or the shop assistant were going to follow up on! Anton giving Anna a peck on the lips was also NBD in my mind — maybe he shouldn't have said the thing about Anna being the best kisser in the challenge, but Belle wasn't even there at that point! Her reaction to him getting down on one knee was kind of mean too. I feel like she should have accepted the ring and then just taken him up on her issues later when they had a bit more privacy. Saying that though, I think Anton was a bit quick to finish it all — they clearly get on most of the time, and from my memory this seems to be their first disagreement. I won't be surprised if, during tonight's episode they decide to patch things up and just get on with it. Ben Oh dear oh dear, that innocent bit of b-roll footage has really come back to bite poor Anton in the arse. Can we just be completely honest here, I see absolutely nothing in this supposed betrayal. To me it seems like the producers prompted him to give the shop assistant his number, and then it has all just blown up in his face from there. Belle was initially quite rational about it all, but the outside influence of Anna and particularly Molly-Mae really fuelled the fire. Belle took the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge as an opportunity to kick off because of what the girls were saying. Yes, Anton shouldn't be saying Anna is the best kisser but the way Belle reacted was way over the top. Tensions were obviously high and the drinks must have been flowing because both seemed to act rashly. I think when the morning comes they'll both realise how petty the whole thing was and get back to being loved up. The Island Club Dumping ITV2 Josie: I forgot how tense the dumpings get as we edge closer to the end of Love Island. I'm now fully invested in almost all of the characters in the villa so the thought of losing just one of them is a bit nail-biting. I'm glad that the Islanders chose to save Anna and Jordan — I'm not saying that they have the staying power of some of the other couples, but they definitely have ~chemistry~. TBH, when Flacky announced that one person from Michael and Joanna could stay I was a bit tired — just send them both home already! I predict that Michael will end up staying — most of the Islanders seem to think that him and Amber still have something going on so they might opt to save him in order to give Amber a chance at love. I kind of want him gone though. I think Amber deserves someone better and more mature than him! We'll see whether I get my way tonight... Ben: I'm starting to think that this whole show might a fix. If Anna and Jordan were voted off I don't believe for a second that there would have been the opportunity for one of them to stay. I'm here for the drama but I'm also bored to tears of Michael and Joanna, so was actually really pleased when it seemed they were both getting voted out. I just really hope that Amber stays strong and can get her sweet revenge by dealing him the final blow of kicking him out the villa. A Special Shoutout To Ovie ITV2 Josie: Please can someone explain why the Islanders are so hung up on Curtis when Ovie is right there?! I love this guy because he just does not seem to care about the money. He is literally just there for a good time. I reckon his friend's bet him to sign up and he did it on a whim and then he suddenly found himself going on dates in the villa. If I could vote for someone to win individually, I would vote for him. Ovie, you are my real MVP.
