You may already know that Nando s does breakfast but only at Gatwick Airport so when I heard about this brunch I knew I just had to go Kris Kirkham I've considered taking a trip to Mallorca just so I can experience the elusive breakfast offering, but now thanks to the Nando's gods, I can just get the get the train to Shoreditch. The brunch is part of a pop-up in East London – Nando s Yard – and its brunch slots have already sold out But don t stress due to its insane popularity a third wave of tickets has been released for this coming Sunday Remee Patel So if you want to get on this train book your place ASAP right here. But what exactly do you get at this brunch you might ask Well for £12 50 you get a choice of THREE delicious-sounding options A full breakfast maple pancakes and even avo toast All served with your choice of tea or coffee and a glass of fizz Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF Remee Patel So in the name of journalism I ordered all three for myself and my flatmate Frankie, who as a brunch connoisseur would be able to offer an expert opinion on whether Nando's fits the brunch bill. Here are our findings: The Nando s Breakfast Remee Patel Remee: I'm gonna start this off by saying ignore these eggs. I should have gone for fried, poached even, because I'm not even sure what these scrambled eggs are. Egg situation aside, this option is basically a Full English – Nando's style, which in my opinion has now ruined regular fry-ups for me. The chicken sausage was delish, the spicy beans were way better than regular beans, and those little sweetcorn fritters? OH MY GOD GET THEM ON THE REGULAR MENU NOW! Frankie: Even though I never order this type of brekkie for brunch, this would sort me right out after a hangover. I do however, love me a fritter at a fancy brunch, so these little morsels of sweetcorn goodness were right up my street. Spicy, creamy, AND crunchy – it was everything. Overall rating (with weird eggs): 6/10Overall rating (ignoring weird eggs): 9/10 Avocado Toast Tap to play GIF Tap to play GIF Remee Patel / BuzzFeed Remee: Ok, I was excited about this because I LOVE avocado toast. I make it at home all the time and I'm ashamed to say it, I pay for it at over-priced restaurants too. I'M THE WORST I KNOW. When I saw this came with peri-peri drizzle I lost my mind, this stuff is good on EVERYTHING. I honestly think it's the best sauce Nando's has (luv u still tho, Garlic). However, I wasn't overly impressed with this dish. The drizzle and the seeds helped for sure and were a nice addition, but the avocado smash on top wasn't up to my brunch standards. Frankie: I love mushrooms, but they don't belong on avo toast. I agree that the peri-peri drizzle was a genius addition and helped this taste decent. But this avo toast is missing that summat summat, and it would have been nice to have a poached egg on top instead of those random mushrooms (although appreciate it makes sense as a vegan option!). Overall rating: 5/10 Maple Pancakes with a Nata Remee Patel Remee: I really enjoyed the fact this came with a sort of bonus Nata. It's completely unnecessary and exactly why I love it. These pancakes were surprisingly small, but tasted yummy and were super light. I think they were cooked on the grill (?) because the backs of them were slightly charred, which I actually really liked. Frankie: I mean, we ate every last bit of this, even the Nata, which I agree was excessive but in a good way. I don't actually like super fluffy thick pancakes, you never end up finishing them! But these, these were surprisingly light and surprisingly good. Overall rating: 8/10 Overall the brunch was pretty good and there were certainly items on the menu that NEED to be given a permanent residency ASAP If you want to give it a try yourself and you're in easy reach of East London, then you can nab a ticket here. But hurry, the extra release won't last long!
