YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food Aldi’ s salted caramel and baked apple gin is a cocktail lover’ s dream come true By You Magazine - November 27, 2018 Aldi has a track record of releasing award-winning drinks, from its Veuve Monsigny Champagne Brut to its much-lauded £9.99 English dry gin. But have you ever tried any of its more unusual flavoured liqueurs? Because the latest launch is one that you don’t want to miss. The budget supermarket has introduced a salted caramel and baked apple gin liqueur to its popular (and ever-expanding) range, and it’s quickly become a trending product on its website, with more than 100 people adding it to their basket in the last 24 hours. Getty Images Why all the fuss? Well, the flavour pairing is perfect for those of us who love a tipple with a sweet edge – think a sugary caramel apple pie poured into a glass, with a sprinkle of balancing sea salt on top. Whether you choose to serve it over iced or mixed into a cocktail recipe (salted caramel and baked apple martini, anyone?), it’ll keep you feeling cosy all season from the very first sip. Plus, as you might expect from Aldi, it’s pretty purse-friendly, too. A 50cl bottle will cost you £14.99, which is a small price to pay to impress your guests or indulge in a toffee apple treat for yourself. Aldi Salted Caramel & Apple Gin Liqueur, £14.99, Aldi Aldi isn’t alone in its quest to get us all thinking a little more creatively when it comes to our drinks cabinets. Marks & Spencer has recently released a Millionaire’s Shortbread cocktail, which brings you the layers of crumbly shortbread, sticky caramel and rich milk chocolate in liquid form, while Lidl’s Spiced Plum and Cinnamon Gin Liqueur will invoke custard-and-crumble memories with every serving. So what are you waiting for? Get the ice in the freezer, polish off your best glassware and stock up on mixers – after all, there’s never going to be a better time to indulge than December.
