And now, the Duchess of York has opened up about the special colour she wore for her daughter’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank. Getty Images For those who don’t remember, Sarah Ferguson wore an emerald dress by Ascot-based designer Emma Louise Design and a matching gold and green hat by milliner Jess Collett for Eugenie’s big day. She completed the outfit with the vintage Manolo Blahnik bag that her own mother, Susan Barrantes, wore at her own royal wedding to Prince Andrew. Now, the 59-year-old royal has revealed yet another sentimental nod behind her mother-of-the-bride outfit. In an interview with the Daily Mail, she explained that there was a special reason why she selected the colour green for her dress and once again, it has a direct link to her own celebrations in 1986. ‘Mum had carried the handbag at my wedding to Prince Andrew and the admission tickets were still in it,’ she said. ‘They were green — which was why I wore green on the day.’ Getty Images While on the topic of Eugenie’s wedding, Fergie also expressed how proud she was to watch her youngest daughter walk down the aisle in a bridal gown that displayed the scars from her scoliosis surgery. ‘My proudest moment was watching Eugenie standing tall, very proud to show her scoliosis scar in her low-backed dress,’ the Duchess added. ‘I’d gone to all the fittings and sat there beaming with delight, and because there was no veil it was a very strong statement.’ She also gushed about the newly weds relationship and it is safe to say she very much approves of her daughter’s husband. ‘She [Eugenie] and Jack are just meant to be,’ she said. ‘He adores her, and now I’ve got a son.’ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Rochelle Humes has launched a gorgeous new edit with Next Shop the YOU Magazine Instagram YOU picks the best new-in buys from M& S Popular in Fashion Laura Jackson has teamed up with Next for the chicest knitwear January 22, 2020 Holly Willoughby’ s birthday dress is another Zara bargain February 10, 2020 The Instagram-famous & Other Stories wool blazer is back in stock August 31, 2022 Lorraine just wore Emma Willis’ Next collection from head to toe March 17, 2020 The prettiest spring dresses under £100 March 1, 2022 Everyone is buying Holly’ s gorgeous gingham Oasis dress May 14, 2020 13 bargain dresses to buy in ASOS’ s extra 20 per cent June 10, 2020 This £20 H& M dress is set to be the social media June 26, 2020 Stacey Solomon x Primark is back for a third collection with July 20, 2020 Searches for this perfect heatwave summer top style are up 5000% August 10, 2020 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
