With Christmas in 2020 a subdued affair given lockdown restrictions, John Lewis is looking to December 2021 and has already identified the brand’s key Christmas decoration trends to know this winter. Christmas Buyer Jason Billings-Cray said: ‘From windswept coastlines, to babbling rivers, the colours and feelings we discovered over the last year have inspired the looks we have created for the upcoming festive season. We know many of our customers have found the outdoors to be a tonic at a very strange time and that, even with the reopening of the world, this new love affair is here to stay.’ Without further ado then, let’s take a look at this year’s key Christmas decoration trends from John Lewis… Key decoration trends for 2021 John Lewis Snow Mountain Inspired by the Scottish Highlands and its mountain wildlife and the dramatic snowy landscapes, this colour scheme is always a favourite with John Lewis customers but has been modernised for 2021 with warm neutrals. John Lewis Gemstone Forest Magical forests, mythical creatures and a fairytale-like landscape come together for 2021 to create Jonh Lewis’ fun Gemstone Forest look. John Lewis Luxe City Inspired by the warm glow of city lights, this contemporary look is Jonh Lewis’ most fashion-forward look for 2021. John Lewis Copper River Uber decadent, this copper and blue look is inspired by the river’s natural stream of flowing water and its wildlife. Blush Coast Blush tones and sea blues emulate the colour of the ocean after the sun has set. Think sand, salty rocks and sea creatures. John Lewis Technicolour supernature Predicted to be a huge hit with children this year, John Lewis has looked to virtual reality and cartoons for a fun look that includes punchy colours and exaggerated features. John Lewis Festive field Bursting with hedgerow creatures and homegrown produce, this look is inspired by pastoral landscapes and consists of festive reds and golds.
