YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity ABBA just teased a band reunion announcement after 39 years By You Magazine - August 26, 2021 In what is possibly the most exciting news we’ve received all year, ABBA has teased that a major announcement is coming next week involving a reunion and yes, we’re literally at the edge of our seats with excitement. Getty Images The iconic band, made up of Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, have revealed that an ‘ABBA Voyage’ is coming our way but what exactly does this entail? It looks like we’ll be getting all the information next week when the new project will be unveiled. The Swedish group hasn’t released any music in 39 years but have maintained a level of relevance only legends can, leaving us with a catalogue of classics that are still played at birthday parties, weddings and frankly, any feel-good occasion worth attending. The post quickly garnered the attention of fans, who were quick to begin speculations of what the special announcement on 2nd September could be. Is it a tour? A new single? A documentary? Some even thought it could be a luxury cruise, though planning travels during the never-ending pandemic feels like a big hassle. According to The Sun, Abba Voyage will involve ‘Abba-tars’, or holograms, of the stars as their younger selves, performing their biggest hits, like Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia and Waterloo. Getty Images The majority of fans believe the announcement will entail new music and possibly even a new album. ‘I shall be transported back to 1978 as a 16[year old] and eagerly awaiting buying the new album on cassette and listening to the new songs,’ one fan tweeted in reaction to the news. ‘Thrilled beyond words.’ Similarly, another tweeted: ‘Omg! The wait is nearly over. Just this announcement has made me overwhelmed with excitement!!!!’ while a third called it ‘the most important musical news of the Century!’ We couldn’t agree more. Bring on the 2nd September!
