YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Interiors IKEA has teamed up with Zandra Rhodes on a super fun new collection and prices start from £1 50 By You Magazine - August 26, 2021 IKEA may be the home of minimalism but that’s all about to change thanks to its exciting new collaboration with Zandra Rhodes. The Swedish furniture haven has teamed up with the British fashion designer to create an interior range like no other and we’re not exaggerating when we say, you’re going to want it all. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Iconic Dame Zandra (@zandra_rhodes_) The IKEA x Zandra Rhodes collection consists of 26 pieces, all designed in rainbow-coloured hues. We’re talking vases, rugs, lampshades, animal-print cushions and even a Rhodes-inspired take on IKEA’s famous Frakta bag (yes, really!) – only this time, it’s Fuchsia. The limited-edition range has been dubbed ‘Karismatik’ which means charismatic in Swedish and feels very fitting, given Rhodes’ signature style. Speaking of the collaboration, the designer said: ‘It’s the sort of collection that people can just choose one piece to lighten up their lives or they can choose several pieces.’ IKEA She added: ‘The design process has been organic and genuine, and this is seen throughout the whole collection. It’s been a wonderful adventure.’ With sustainability always at the forefront of IKEA’s ethos, the collection has repurposed material for its rugs and cushions where possible. Rhodes’ decision to create the range with IKEA came after she painted her Billy bookcase ‘an iridescent Frida Kahlo blue,’ according to The Guardian. Having worked with the likes of Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana throughout her career, she knows a thing or two about glam-rock, which is exactly what we’re getting from the collection. IKEA ‘As a designer, it’s wonderful if you can create something that will reach people,” she told the publication. “When I make my clothes, they’re all very limited and one of a kind. It’s the way I’ve felt I could make my living but it’s wonderful when you do something that can get out to more people, I can’t wait to see people walking around with one of the pink bags.’ Neither can we! The entire collection will be available to shop at IKEA from 1 September.
