Building on the continuing success of Aldi’s velvet scallop cocktail chair (which near-instantly sells out every time it’s restocked), the supermarket has just launched what might become its most coveted homeware item to date: a scallop double bed. Similar in style to The Chair, this Aldi bed features a scalloped headboard and comes in pink, grey and navy. Aldi Scallop Double Bed, £249.99 (was £274.99), Aldi Just as Aldi’s £79.99 cocktail chair is a near-perfect dupe for Oliver Bonas’s very similar-looking £395 version, one can’t help but notice that this bed looks an awful lot like Oliver Bonas’s Flora Velvet Headboard. We’ve triple-checked the maths (because we also couldn’t quite believe it), and that’s an entire bed for half the price of a headboard… If you’re lucky enough to already be in possession of Aldi’s scalloped chair, this bed will be the perfect addition to your bedroom to tie the whole look together. It’s also available with added space-saving ottoman-style storage for £349.99 (still cheaper than the headboard) and as a king size bed for £299.99 (or £399.99 with the ottoman storage) – sorry Oliver Bonas, but that’s still cheaper than your headboard… Aldi Scallop Double Bed with Ottoman Storage, £339.99 (was £399.99), Aldi If the rate at which Aldi’s velvet chairs sell is anything to go by, we predict these beds will sell extremely fast – and they’ve finally been released exclusively online.
