Keep the iconic LBD outfit, obviously." – Rachel Williams, Facebook, and kellya470feba26 2 Pippi Longstocking Beta Film "There needs to be a good Pippi Longstocking adaptation – don't mind if it's live-action or cartoon, but nothing that has been made up to now has done the books justice." – Anna King, Facebook 3 To Kill a Mockingbird Universal Pictures "I think the old version of To Kill a Mockingbird with Gregory Peck is great, but I don’t think enough people have seen it/appreciate it. I think there could be a really amazing remake, and then many more people of this generation would know and love To Kill a Mockingbird." – eliceadevonshire 4 The People Under the Stairs Universal Pictures "It's a ’90s horror movie about people who break into their landlord's house to find that they have a group of cannibalistic children locked up under the stairs. It's creepy and kind of funny, but at the same time it also deals with race, class, and how greed brings out the worst in people." – Jerika Layne, Facebook 5 I Am Legend Warner Bros. Pictures "I LOVE the novel, and I love the whole apocalypse/post-apocalypse genre. All three movies have never been able to capture what was so great about the novel. The Will Smith version was somewhat close, but it was a CGI mess that confused vampires with zombies and totally confused the message of what the novel was trying to deliver. What's upsetting is that it wouldn't be hard at all to make a perfect adaptation for I Am Legend. It's pretty simple and face forward. It's the fact that Hollywood is afraid to give us dark and realistic endings." – Hayden Thomas Veach, Facebook 6 The Hunchback of Notre Dame as live-action Disney "Since Disney seems pretty dedicated to making live-action versions of all their films, I think The Hunchback of Notre Dame would be gold. It's the sort of movie I always forget how great it is until it's actually on in front of me. They should make it darker too (which would be hard – the original animated film does get sort of macabre), and hopefully make a point of using a new cast instead of relying on Hollywood favorites." – Briana Hicks, Facebook 7 Little Shop of Horrors Warner Bros. Mike Coppola / Getty Images "I was listening to the Broadway recordings today and I couldn’t stop thinking how well Neil Patrick Harris would play Seymour." – karic4f52d58cf 8 Neverwhere from TV series to film BBC "Even though it was technically a miniseries, Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere should be remade. It was awesome back then, but I know it would be AMAZING with a bigger budget." – Jester and Sly 9 The Girl on the Train in London Universal Pictures "It should have been set in London. I’m watching it right now after reading the book. It’s lost a lot of its London charm. Where are the English accents? Why is Rachel not a little chubby!? Why do they not live on Blenheim Road? Why is Kamal Abdic not brown!?" – sarahafiyaw 10 Eragon 20th Century Fox "The first one was a low-budget insult to the book. Justice needs to be served." – rachelc4c3ffb052 and michalannh2 11 Dark Places A24 "The story has so much potential to be a classic mystery thriller. Please, Hollywood, make Dark Places with David Fincher, Denis Villeneuve, or Danny Boyle in the director’s chair." – Butterflybutts91 12 My Sister s Keeper New Line Cinema "They changed the entire ending and cut out about half the story to make a feel-good Lifetime movie instead of a Jodi Picoult story." – elisevb2595 "They need to redo My Sister’s Keeper, but they need to make it accurate to the book. That movie was completely different…it sucked compared to the book because the book was so incredible." – mikolem 13 The Addams Family with a grown-up Christina Ricci as Wednesday Addams Orion Pictures Distributed by Paramount Pictures Astrid Stawiarz / Getty Images for SCAD "Not so much a remake, but they should do a new Addams Family with Christina Ricci as a grown-up Wednesday Addams!" – c4f3cb2d86 14 Clue Paramount Pictures "Clue is perfect as is, but there are so many comedic talents in Hollywood that could bring new life to it." – PurpleBlue and Alex2194af 15 Electric Dreams Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer "Clever, fun, sweet romantic comedy where the third wheel is the guy’s computer. Technology made it dated almost immediately – a good update would be awesome." – mattl50 "A more modern computer would be a much more believable romantic rival than an Apple II." – Matt Lovato, Facebook 16 Bedknobs and Broomsticks Walt Disney Productions "As awesome as Angela Lansbury was in the original, there were a few logic/plotholes that should be addressed (how did they breathe underwater?) and I would be excited to see what today’s CGI could do with the animated parts." – jessileum 17 Rebecca United Artists "I love the movie Rebecca with Joan Fontaine, Laurence Olivier, and Judith Anderson. It would be amazing to see a remake." – MusicL5 18 The Phantom Tollbooth as live-action Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer "It deserves another chance, but this time in live-action. It could be this generation's Harry Potter cinematically." – hyfr0223 19 A Streetcar Named Desire Warner Bros. "I’d love a remake of Streetcar Named Desire. The play is so good, and the movie with Marlon Brando is great. But I’d love to see it done with some beautiful modern cinematography, and I think the issues and the characters are still relevant to modern society." – katm45798db18 20 The Outsiders Warner Bros. "Don’t get me wrong, Francis Ford Coppola did a bomb-ass job on the original (and shout-out to the awesome 2005 Director’s Cut), BUT I would like to see a remake, because the book is still being read by middle-school kids today and the children probably don’t even know who the actors are any more." – shawneelynn and g48d34841f 21 The Last Airbender Paramount Pictures –Bespectacled Heroine, adimanoork, and Adima Noor Khan, Facebook 22 Nineteen Eighty-Four 20th Century Fox "1984 deserves a remake, and would be a timely book to adapt, as well, given current events." – mrsandman29 23 Queen of the Damned Warner Bros. "While Interview With the Vampire was fairly decent, this book-to-screen adaptation of the third Vampire book does a complete disservice to an absolutely marvellous tale." –mrsandman29. 24 Soylent Green Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer "The story was way ahead of its time, and is still completely and extremely relevant. This movie would be incredible if remade, in the right way of course. RIP Charlton Heston." – artistthateats 25 Pocahontas live-action Disney "Live-action Pocahontas but like with a Native American cast – that’s the only way I’ll accept it." – naab 26 Alexander the Great BBC Warner Bros. Pictures "Neither of the major movies about Alexander the Great (the Burton epic from 1956, and the recent dud from Oliver Stone in 2004) does justice to this major historical figure." – mrsandman29 27 The Percy Jackson series 20th Century Fox "The series deserves some good movies that do it justice!" – cayliej3 "The original film adaptations were nothing like the books, and I’m sure a lot of fans of the books would like to see a more accurate movie version." –laurencrabtre, and m4523910c4, and Mirja Quix, Facebook 28 The Breakfast Club Universal Pictures "The Breakfast Club, but instead of discussing social class, they could talk about inequalities such as racism, sexism, and LGBTQ+ rights." – lillianag "I would love to see how they would remake it and if the characters would change." – nicolep40b24bcb8 29 The Time Traveler s Wife New Line Cinema – helenelizabethw2 30 Anastasia live-action 20th Century Fox "I really want to see a live-action Anastasia. That was my favourite movie as a kid :)" – ladyiris 31 Harry Potter as a TV series Warner Bros. "I really wish Harry Potter would be remade in a series, so that they can put in much more book details. But on the other hand, the old actors became the characters for me, so I don’t think I can watch it with other actors…" – Ethnaaaax "The books have endless potential for a gripping series if done right, and I would really love to see every last detail from the book fleshed out in a TV series. If they get the right network, the right producers, screenwriters, actors, etc., I can see it becoming a total hit." – ravenbard "Remake the Harry Potter movies, but on HBO. Go with seven 10-episode seasons, one season per book." – joshkhorton 32 The Wizard of Oz Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer "It would be nice if they made a closer adaptation of the Oz series to the books. Not ruby slippers, no green witch of the west, have Ozma… Walter Murch did an amazing job with Return to Oz, but Disney put a lot of pressure on him during it." – williamp4c37c518d, and alex141002, and KimKatdashian 33 The Wicker Man Warner Bros. Pictures "The original (1973) is really good, but then the Nick Cage remake (2006) is SO TERRIBLE it hurts. It needs redemption. I would love to see a modern 2017–2020 version of the story." – SQVID 34 None BuzzFeed Submitted by Rmf1185, randocalrissian, plumcherrytree, kevinb44d53331f , Edwin, David Spears, Facebook, Azure Adams, Facebook, Maria Kanno, Facebook, Sara Heinemeyer, Facebook, and Akilah Copeland, Facebook."None.
