YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity This is how the royal family will spend their Easter weekend By You Magazine - April 17, 2019 The royals have plenty of traditions. And while we’re all pretty clued up about their Christmas traditions by now – from what they eat to why the men and women are separated on the morning of the 25th – not many of us can say the same about what our favourite family get up to on Easter. Getty Images However, fear not. If you’re wondering how the Queen and her relatives will be spending the bank holiday weekend, then you’ve come to the right place, because we’ve done all of the research for you. In the past years, Her Majesty has spent the holiday with her family in Windsor with her grandchildren and it looks like this year will be no different. In fact, the Queen is already at Windsor Castle (after travelling there earlier this month) where she has been enjoying downtime such as horse rides with her Head Groom Terry Pendry, as reported by MailOnline. Getty Images She is usually joined by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex and her granddaughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie as well as other relatives – all of whom are expected in Windsor again this weekend. However, rumour has it is unlikely that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will join their family for the celebrations this year, as the soon-to-be-parents are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first royal baby. Last year, the entire family attended the annual Easter Sunday service in Windsor which they will no doubt be doing again this weekend. As stated on the royal UK website and seen previously, crowds often gather outside the 14th century church to welcome them before the service begins and afterwards the Queen receives a bouquet of flowers from local children who also attended the service. Getty Images On the Thursday before Easter, Her Majesty distributes Maundy Money to different cathedral across the country. This happens every year and sees the Queen handing out the coins as special recognition to individuals who have contribution to their community and church. But what about all the Easter fun for the royal kids? According to HELLO!, Kate Middleton is going all out for her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis. The magazine reported that last year, Kate told some young fans outside St George’s Chapel, where she was attending the Easter service, that her children had enjoyed an exciting Easter hunt earlier that morning. So chances are she’ll be putting on the same again – if not bigger and better. Especially if she enlists help from her family’s party planning business, Party Pieces.
