Speaking about their time on set, both Schwimmer and Aniston — who played Ross and Rachel on the TV hit respectively — admitted that during earlier seasons of Friends, they had both been crushing on each other hard. Getty Images ‘At some point, we were crushing hard on each other,’ Schwimmer told James Cordon at the reunion show. “But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.” Getty Images Fast forward to August 2021, and the rumour mill was rife with talk of the two spending time together in a romantic nature. Publications such as The Mirror ran headlines suggesting the pair were ‘coupled up in real life,’ much to the joy of die-hard Friends fans. The rumours caused a total raucous online, where Twitter users could not get enough of the idea of the two actors being each other’s real-life ‘lobsters’. But sadly, mere days after the rumour began, it has died a sudden death after both David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston have refuted the story. A representative for Schwimmer told Huffington Post that the rumours were absolutely not true, while Aniston’s people also concurred. Getty Images Unfortunately, this latest twist to the story has left fans devastated, who had been ‘shipping’ them hard since day dot. ‘That would have been so cute,’ wrote one on Twitter. Another commented: ‘Damn I was hoping it were true,’ alongside a cute gif of the two kissing while on Friends as Rachel and Ross. ‘Time to go in my room and cry,’ a third added. We have to admit this hit hard, but at least they will always be good *friends*.
