As with many of the brand’s sell-outs, it moved fast – but if you missed out on that little number, then listen up, because fashion insiders say that the next M&S skirt to cause a stir has just arrived. Meet the Colour Block Satin Pleated Midi Skirt, which, like its predecessor, retails for just £39.50. It’s available in two jewel-toned colours – a warm plum, and a rich navy – and although the glossy fabric might make you think it’s only for evenings, M&S’ models prove that this is a garment that can definitely be dressed up or down. I know pleated skirts were last autumn’s success story, but why shouldn’t we repeat them this year?’ she wrote about the skirt at the time. ‘The metallic element and the velvet lift it out of the ordinary.
