YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food People are campaigning for the return of this popular Celebrations chocolate By You Magazine - September 27, 2018 Now we don’t know about you, but we’re very passionate about our chocolate. Especially when confectionery companies decide to revamp their classic collections by getting rid of the old and in with the new, which is exactly what happened to our precious Celebration tubs back in 2011. Rex Features Mars made the brutal decision to drop the much-loved Galaxy Truffle from their Celebrations selection in order to replace it with Twix, and although the latter is a popular chocolate in its own right, people were mad. And rightly so. Now, a group of people have decided to take matters into their own hands. One internet user has kicked off a petition to bring back the chocolate and he isn’t taking any prisoners. In hopes of reaching 10,000 signatures, Sean Duggan has named his petition Bring back the Galaxy Truffle to Celebrations. The petition’s official statement reads: ‘This petition has been made so people are aware that the Galaxy Truffle was taken away from the Celebrations chocolates. Apparently, they were taken away due to them being too expensive for production and so were replaced with the Twix. If you only vote for one thing this year…let it be the people's RIGHT to have Galaxy Truffles back in Celebrations boxes https://t.co/vqFBNAoqvR pic.twitter.com/uUtPyjVWtv - Hursty (@FMHursty) September 25, 2018 ‘Let’s get the Truffle back and let the company know that we don’t want something that was so popular to be replaced with something so mediocre. Let us show not only the heartbreak of something so delicious being taken away, but to show that this should never happen again!’ Alamy Stock Photo The Galaxy Truffle has been a firm favourite among the nation for years. In facts its one of the few chocolates in the tub that has the entire family fighting over it at Christmas. It was the one you wanted to save till last, but also the one you want to get your hands on first – a real diamond in the rough. It’s no wonder people are demanding its return. And believe it or not, Sean isn’t the first person to take such action against Mars. Last year, Mark Jackson took to Change.org to ask for 200 people to get behind a similar petition. Sadly, he only received 105 signatures and nothing came of his efforts. But we’ve got high hopes for Sean’s attempt, which has already received over 700 sign ups.
