From her neatly styled signature bun to her bardot neck line dresses, and most impressive of all, her flawless skin, the Duchess of Sussex always looks immaculate. And now, we’ve uncovered one of her biggest beauty secrets. Getty Images As any Meghan super fan would know, make-up artist Daniel Martin was the man responsible for creating her natural beauty look on her wedding day earlier this year. In a new interview with E! News, Martin detailed how exactly he enhanced the Duchess’ natural beauty using not make-up but skincare products. ‘A lot of my highlighting is done with skincare,’ he admitted. Martin then went on to explain that his favourite trick used to be applying Aquaphor – a healing ointment with a similar consistency to Vaseline – to achieve a natural highlight. ‘Before highlighters, you would do highlighting with Aquaphor,’ he said. ‘Aquaphor will give you that same texture, especially in a photo [when applied] on the high points of the face.’ Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm, £8.99, Superdrug To recreate Martin’s luminous technique, all you have to do is pat a balm like Aquaphor over the areas you want to highlight, such as your cheek or brow bones. ‘I don’t use a highlighter product per se, but if I do, I’ll lay it down with Dior – they came out with incredible highlighting palette – and what I’ll do is I’ll take the Honest Beauty Balm and lay it on top of it,’ he added. ‘It intensifies the highlight, but because of the texture of the magic balm it gives you that luminosity like you just applied moisturiser.’ Speaking about her make up routine in an old interview with Allure, Meghan herself revealed that she tends to keep things ‘low-key’ – so much so that she calls her routine ‘the five-minute face‘. ‘It’s just Touche Éclat, curled lashes, mascara, Chap Stick, and a little bit of blush,’ she told the title.
