Little wonder that people are only too happy to know what skin products she swears by, then. Getty Images Speaking to UK health and beauty site, Get The Gloss, the 54-year-old supermodel revealed that the secret to her clear complexion is the face wash, Resurface Foaming Glycolic Wash, by US-based beauty brand NeoStrata. Elle said: ‘On my face, I sometimes use a glycolic cleanser – I like the Resurface Foaming Glycolic Wash by NeoStrata.’ The cleanser, which retails for £21.40, claims to ‘gently exfoliate and unclog congested skin’, as well as enhancing the skin’s ‘clarity and texture’. Neostrata Resurface Foaming Glycolic Wash, £21.40, NeoStrata Elle revealed that she regards exfoliating as an important part of her skincare routine, often also using Dr Sebagh’s Deep Exfoliating Mask, priced at £59, which she describes as ‘efficient and yet gentle.’ ‘Exfoliating, moisturising, hydrating and sun protection in summer are extra important’, she warned readers during the interview. ‘Because skin is the number one detox organ, I prioritise exfoliating once a day.’ Not shy about sharing the details of exactly how she keeps herself looking incredible, last month, Elle talked about how she had to alter her diet and routine after turning 50 in order to stay in shape. My legs started to get heavy. I started to feel lethargic.’ ‘I also didn’t feel inspired. I wasn’t sleeping. My whole energy felt heavy,’ she recalled. After consulting a nutritionist, she switched to a plant-based alkaline diet and cut back on sugar, wheat and animal by-products. ‘What I’d always thought were sunspots—actually, they were sugar spots— started to clear, and my skin looked tighter, dewier and plumper,’ she explained. ‘I started to lose weight, probably because my sugar cravings had subsided. My digestion improved.
