YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity Prince Harry and Meghan just broke a major record By You Magazine - April 4, 2019 It’s news to no one that Prince Harry and Meghan are one of the most influential couples in the world – but their latest venture proves just quite how popular the royal duo have become. Until recently, updates about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were delivered to the public through social media accounts under the handle of @kensingtonpalace, which also covered news from Harry’s brother Prince William, wife Kate, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Just six hours after its creation, the @sussexroyal account had an incredible 1 million followers, breaking all previous records on the platform, according to Guinness World Records – and days later, that number has already risen to 3.3 million. Basically, if you ever needed proof that the Meghan (and Harry) effect is real, you just got it – in a major way. Instagram/Sussex Royal The move to split from the Cambridges – both online, and in professional terms – was confirmed in a statement last month, which read: ‘The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year.’ ‘This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage.’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (@sussexroyal) The @sussexroyal account has only uploaded two posts so far, but the expectant parents say that they look forward to ‘sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. ‘We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal,’ they wrote in their first official joint message, which has received more than a million likes so far.
