YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Beauty Edwina Ings-Chambers My new skin saviours By You Magazine - March 31, 2019 From the skin-smoothing sunscreen to the cleanser with groundbreaking ingredients, these six launches really are worth the investment. Luciano Cardinale The scrub L’Oréal Paris Smooth Sugars Wake-Up Scrub (£9.99, boots.com) This gives you an invigorating yet gentle exfoliation to slough away dead skin cells. Along with sugar and coffee, it contains sweet almond and coconut oils to smooth and soften skin. It can be used on the face and lips, too; in fact, it’s encouraged – so great if you suffer from chapping. Best kept for mornings because the coffee really does add some zing to the ritual. The treatment Elizabeth Arden Prevage Progressive Renewal Treatment (£180, elizabetharden.co.uk) My skin can be quite sensitive so many treatments cause breakouts or dehydration. But not this one – it’s a four-week programme to gently resurface the skin and comes with four vials of product, one for each week, each more powerful than the last. The aim: to make skin look more radiant and wrinkles less noticeable. I’ve been super impressed by the results. The sunscreen Dr Sam’s Flawless Daily Sunscreen (£29, drsambunting.com) This feels more like a serum than a traditional sunscreen – which means it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and there’s no white-out. It includes skincare benefits such as five per cent niacinamide to help calm blemish-prone complexions. But it is also sun protection, with a UVA and SPF 50 UVB rating – and the pump delivers just the right amount. Sunscreen made simple. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Edwina Ings-Chambers (@edwinaingschambers) The make-up cleanser Murad Prebiotic 4-In-1 MultiCleanser (£38, murad.co.uk) This gel-to-oil cleanser is gentle, feels silky to use and easily lifts off make-up – even longwear – by using a peptide that is 300 times more efficient than traditional removers. It also hydrates, courtesy of hyaluronic acid. Its prebiotics (see my article Beauty Knowhow: Join the Culture Club) help to maintain the skin’s bacterial balance, so it’s a great little all-rounder. The hydrator The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid (£12.99, cultbeauty.co.uk) The latest launch from this innovative brand is great for the permanently slightly dehydrated among us. This is because – drum roll! – it can hold four times the moisture of hyaluronic acid and the formula helps to lock in all that juiciness. This is a great restorer and complexion-plumper – so much so that the sample I was given a month ago hasn’t left my washbag since. The on-the-go prep Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleansers (£35, omorovicza.com) Ilove these handy but also very effective cotton discs, which are soaked in a peach- and patchouli-scented micellar cleanser. Damask rosewater is also used to soften and soothe skin. You can use them as a quick wipe on their own or as part of a double cleanse. If you’re on the move these really are top notch – and feel like a treat.
