But we think the budget supermarket’s newest product is something that will make a lot of people happy. Sweet-toothed sippers, rejoice! Aldi has released a new Salted Caramel Cupcake Gin Liqueur that apparently tastes just like the much-loved Lotus Biscoff biscuits. That’s right, it’s gin and Lotus Biscoff combined to make a deliciously sweet tipple. It’s the drink we didn’t know we needed. Salted Caramel Cupcake Gin Liqueur, £8.99, Aldi Aldi suggests the liqueur is best drunk neat, with some ice, or added to a cocktail creation of your own. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you could even add a splash into an iced coffee to take it to a whole new level. On the supermarket’s website, it says: ‘this delicious gin liqueur has a mouthwateringly indulgent fusion of salted caramel and gin flavours. Enticingly delicious, rich, creamy and moreish.’ As well as the salted caramel flavour, Aldi has a Raspberry Jam Donut version that sounds equally indulgent. It’s described to have ‘mouthwatering sweet raspberry flavours with elegant smooth vanilla, followed by round juniper notes.’ Add a splash of lemonade and some ice to it and you could find your new favourite summer drink. If you’d like to add a touch of sparkle to your drinks, Aldi launched its own version of Marks and Spencer’s spring addition glitter globe gin liqueur. As expected, Aldi’s is a fraction of the price.
