In a fairly unsurprising move, newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be leaving the Kensington Palace Household, and instead joining the Buckingham Palace Household. The pair will relocate their work and communications teams from Kate and William, and go their separate ways. Rex Features/Shutterstock Also at Buckingham Palace Household are Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, a spokesperson commented: ‘The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year.’ MORE: 7 things we already know about Meghan and Harry’s royal baby It continued: ‘The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.’ ‘The Duke of Sussex currently has his own private office, which has been supporting the Duchess since Their Royal Highness’s engagement in November 2017. This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage.’ Rex Features/Shutterstock As part of the split, Meghan and Harry are also hiring a new team to take over, including an ex-adviser of Hillary Clinton, Sara Latham. Latham will take on the role of Communications Chief, and comes from a background of working with important clients, and is currently the managing partner at Freuds PR agency in London. While this split sounds drastic, it has actually be expected for a while, and as the statement reads, has been long-planned. It also makes sense to separate as the four raise their growing families and take on distinct new roles over the next few years.
