But unlike the nuptials of her sister Princess Eugenie, it looks like Beatrice’s big day won’t be aired on TV. ITV, the channel which aired Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank last October, to an audience of over three million people, has confirmed that there are no plans to televise Beatrice’s ceremony, although a spokesperson added: ‘ITV will be reporting on the wedding within our ITV News programmes.’ Getty Images The BBC has also confirmed that it will not be issuing any live coverage from the event, giving a similar statement along the lines of reports in other news billings instead. So why have things changed so drastically since the end of last year, from sister to sister? Well, there could be a number of reasons behind the decision. Some have speculated that it could be related to Prince Andrew, Beatrice and Eugenie’s father, stepping away from his royal duties following the BBC Newsnight interview which focused on his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. However, others say the cost to the public has likely been a major factor. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Royal Family (@theroyalfamily) During an appearance on an episode of Lorraine, royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained: ‘I think they’re going to have to “rethink” the arrangements for Beatrice’s wedding.’ ‘I think they were planning something along the lines of Eugenie’s wedding, but there were outcries over security costs for the taxpayer and I don’t think they’ll want a similar embarrassment for Beatrice, so I imagine that will be scaled down somewhat.’ Getty Images Buckingham Palace has not issued any comment on the matter, but it’s also possible that Beatrice and Edoardo have requested that their wedding be kept private, to give themselves greater control over the day or to simply enjoy a lower-key celebration altogether. Details from the venue to the date of Princess Beatrice’s wedding have yet to be announced, but it is expected to take place in either late May or early June. Whatever happens, we’re sure they’ll have a day that’s perfect for them – and we can’t wait to see the first picture of that dress.
