Rx Features Luckily, HBO is fully aware of this and have already put the show’s creator to work on a brand new project – and Nicole Kidman has already been cast, too. The Undoing is the title of the network’s new psychological suspense thriller. It will be an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s critically-acclaimed novel You Should Have Known, with Big Little Lies writer David E Kelley creating it alongside Emmy award-winning director Susanne Bier, and Kidman who will also act as executive producer. So if it’s anything like their previous work, it’s safe to say we have another small screen hit on our hands. Here’s everything we know about the new series so far… What is it about As described in HBO’s official show synopsis: ‘A successful therapist, Grace Sachs (played by Kidman) is on the brink of publishing her first book. Grace has a devoted husband, Jonathan, and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Getty Images ‘Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing spouse, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.’ We’ve got chills already. The Undoing promises to be another drama with women at the forefront, according to Nicole Kidman, who said: ‘David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its centre.’ Who are the cast Getty Images The Undoing is set to be star-studded drama with Nicole Kidman as the led, playing therapist Grace Sachs, while Hugh Grant plays her husband Jonathan, an acclaimed paediatric oncologist and devoted father to their children who suddenly goes missing. Jonathan’s father, a retired financier and loving grandfather named Franklin Renner is played by Donald Sutherland. Meanwhile other recognisable names such as The Assassination of Gianni Versace’s Edgar Ramirez, Lily Rabe, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Matilda DeAngelis, and Noma Dumezweni have also been cast. When will it air The Undoing is currently in production in New York, meaning no air date has been set. However, it is expected to arrive in 2020.
