Gemma Day Gemma Day For me, this is the greatest piece of jewellery you can have. My all-access MotoGP pass allows me to go wherever I want during a motorcycle grand prix and gives me a year’s worth of thrills and entertainment watching the racing – and it pays my bills. I keep all my old passes. Gemma Day Guitarist and singer Mel Galley – who was in the rock band Trapeze and then went on to join Whitesnake – was my godfather. He’s one of my heroes but is, sadly, no longer with us. I wear this T-shirt when I am exercising and I feel as though Mel is with me in spirit. Gemma Day The first time I went to Glastonbury was in 2016 with my husband Bas [businessman Bastien Boosten] and two friends. We stopped at a Mulberry outlet shop nearby and Bas bought me this cute bag as a late birthday present. I call it my festival bag. Gemma Day I was a mascot for dad’s works football team, Astra. he is third from right at the back and I’m in the centre of the front row looking like a boy. Aged ten, I’d wash their football strips for £5. It was a disgusting job, but my love of football comes from those years. Gemma Day I did ballet from the ages of ten to 12 and it was the first time I experienced physical pain from an activity that was supposed to be graceful and fun. I thought I’d be good at it as I was so sporty – but I wasn’t. It made me realise that sometimes you need to move on from things that don’t work. Gemma Day My brother Stuart gave me Abba’s Greatest Hits when I was five. I was their biggest fan and saw them play in 1979. We are both huge Wolverhampton Wanderers fans and when Frida wore their football top at the gig, my brother suddenly thought they were cool. Gemma Day In the 70’s, my dad Tony was managing the rock band trapeze and would bring us gifts when he came back from touring. This doll came from Texas. At the time – in 1973 – I had never seen one like it. She was so beautiful and feminine. Gemma Day Gingi arrived as a stray ten years ago and I adopted him. He is about 15 now. He’s like a dog – when he was younger I’d take him for walks in the fields; he would follow me without a lead. He’s been through a lot with me.
