YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Celebrity What it’ s really like living in the Love Island villa according to Eyal Booker By You Magazine - July 6, 2018 Former Love Island contestant (and chairman of the ‘Do Bits Society’) Eyal Booker was kicked out of the Mallorcan villa when his coupling with the pneumatic glamazon Megan fell to pieces and a shock eviction saw him pack his bags. Fresh from the Island, here he spills the secrets about this summer’s biggest TV show, and tells us how we can copy his dreamy curls… View this post on Instagram A post shared by E Y A L B O O K E R (@eyalbooker) THEY DO ACTUALLY EAT ‘We ate a lot of cheese toasties – that is not a lie. Dani made a world-class cheese toastie. I’m missing those – she really had the magic touch. She made those toasties with love.’ TALKING ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIPS ALL THE TIME IS TRICKY… ‘On a typical day we were just chilling in the villa, talking about emotions a lot, how we felt about each other, where we saw our relationships moving forward. Sometimes that was difficult because it had only been a day or two, but that was part of the test itself. We were all going through the day together. And some days were better than others for everyone.’ …BUT THEY DID TALK ABOUT OTHER THINGS TOO ‘There’s a lot of stuff we spoke about that viewers didn’t see. We all have a lot of life experiences from different walks of life, so there were lots of topical conversations going on too.’ View this post on Instagram A post shared by E Y A L B O O K E R (@eyalbooker) IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW WHAT TIME IT WAS ‘We didn’t have a clock in there – we didn’t know what time it was, ever. And the light that woke us up was extremely bright, which is why everyone would wear sunglasses in the morning.’ THERE’S A REALLY GOOD TIME TO NAP ‘I’d always go for my evening nap while the girls got ready. It could’ve taken an hour or two, but to be honest, we didn’t have any concept of time so I still have no idea. I ended up dreaming about being in the villa too – sometimes I’d dream about my family meeting people in there, or I dreamt about really bad situations going on in the villa. There was nothing else to activate your mind!’ THEY DIDN’T SEE THE PRODUCERS *THAT OFTEN* ‘We’d only see them at lunch or dinner, when they’d bring food in, or when we were doing challenges.’ A LOT OF EFFORT IS PUT INTO DATES ‘My date with Megan wasn’t just set up at the back of the villa – it was about a half an hour drive away. A nice little date in a vineyard, and we did drink some wine as well.’ YES, THEY GOT SENT CLOTHES ‘We did have a clothes drop, (Missguided partnered with the TV show this year) but it was kind of random. A lot of the time the guys would just share, so you might’ve noticed a few of us wearing the same jacket. We were just rotating things. We all became a big family in there so we were literally wearing each other’s’ underwear and socks. And we had our washing done once a week… AND *THAT* HAIR CARE TIP The secret to getting those curls so perfect? It’s simple. ‘I just use a pink tub of curl cream from Boots (possibly Lee Stafford Control Crème?). When I get out of the shower, I rub it in there and then just shake my head around a bit. Then the curls appear!’ Love Island airs on ITV2 every night at 9pm RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR 50 of the best celebrity Halloween costumes of all time Shirley Ballas ‘ Strictly gave me back my hope’ Davina McCall discusses how men can help women going through the menopause Popular in Celebrity TV chef Gino D Acampo on Sardinia Sophia Loren and scary salads May 25, 2017 The Evergreen Goddess Exercise guru Diana Moran on looking fit and July 10, 2017 More more Julianne Moore November 13, 2017 Author Jill Mansell on designer notebooks commissioning art and the family January 16, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES Kelly Hoppen on vodka vintage finds and being a April 4, 2018 ‘ I have no regrets’ Millie Mackintosh on divorce debt and reuniting May 20, 2018 EMOTIONAL TIES TV presenter and tennis player Annabel Croft shares her July 1, 2018 Stella Parton ‘ Dolly and I have always been close’ August 12, 2018 Anna Friel on getting jeered in the street shared parenting with September 23, 2018 Queen of primetime Charlotte Riley on juggling rising stardom with pregnancy October 21, 2018 Popular CategoriesFood2704Life2496Fashion2240Beauty1738Celebrity1261Interiors684 Sign up for YOUMail Thanks for subscribing Please check your email to confirm (If you don't see the email, check the spam box) Fashion Beauty Celebrity Life Food Privacy & Cookies T&C Copyright 2022 - YOU Magazine.
