Wearing a pretty, summer-ready pastel blue and white dress that she paired with a cotton-white fascinator and nude, cut-out heels, she looked the epitome of grace. The maxi dress was designed by none-other-than Oscar de la Renta, a label synonymous with A-listers, and featured ruffle details, a drawstring neckline, dipped hem and a wrap-over front. For budding fashion fans, the bad news came when it was revealed to cost a whopping £3,922. But there is some good thankfully, Debenhams have saved the day and created a dupe for a much more affordable price. The designers at Studio by Preen, who sell at Debenhams, have created a frock with an uncanny resemblance to the Duchess of Sussex’s choice. Debenhams The dress dupe features similar floral detail in the same colour palette as the Oscar de la Renta number, with a loose shape, ruffle details and a cross-over front. The main difference is the sleeve length however, as while Meghan opted for a demure long-sleeve dress, this dress has no sleeves and is instead designed with straps. With the weather being so hot in the UK this summer already, we reckon this is actually a blessing. The dress retails at £120 – £3802 less than Meghan’s – and comes in sizes 6 to 18. Versatile, it can easily be worn to a wedding à la Meghan or to work dressed down with a pair of strappy sandals and a light cardigan. It’s also perfect for holiday evenings too, as it looks smart but also has a relaxed feel for summer vibes. If you do want it, you’ll need to act quick. When people hear that there’s a Meghan dress dupe, you can count on it not being around for long..
