YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food Krispy Kreme is handing out free doughnuts to anyone who had a lockdown birthday By You Magazine - July 14, 2020 It’s fair to say that birthdays during the height of lockdown just weren’t the same – stuck indoors with no visitors and minimal fanfare left much to be desired for some 22 million Brits who experienced a ‘lockdown birthday’. But the much-loved doughnut brand Krispy Kreme is hoping to turn that frown upside down – to celebrate its own 83rd anniversary, they want to give away free doughnuts to anyone who experienced a birthday during lockdown. That means, if you turned a year older between 23 March and 3 July, you’re eligible for one free original glazed doughnut and therefore should get yourself to a Krispy Kreme store stat. Instagram/@krispykremeuk Just a few things to bear in mind before you go skipping off to claim your complimentary treat – you must have a form of ID on you to prove your birth date and you have to spend a minimum of £1.55 to claim your freebie doughnut. You can find your closest store here, but the offer is not available in Ireland or concessions within Selfridges, Bentalls, Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Moto, universities, Welcome Break, Roadchef, Shell, EuroGarages, Center Parcs or Krispy Kreme mobile events, Krispy Kreme Occasions or on any online orders. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Krispy Kreme UK (@krispykremeuk) While it certainly can’t make up for your less than impressive 2020 birthday, a free doughnut is still quite likely to make your day that little bit better regardless. Instagram/@krispykremeuk Richard Cheshire, Krispy Kreme UK and Ireland CEO, said: ‘We started making our iconic Original Glazed doughnut from the USA in 1937. Ever since, we’ve always been committed to making people smile. For our birthday this year, we want to bring smiles to the millions of UK doughnut fans who feel like they missed out on celebrations this year by offering the joy of an Original Glazed treat on us!’ The offer is available until 19 July, so get your skates on to claim your free birthday doughnut!
