As always, the festive season has brought lots of exciting new special edition stock to the aisles of high street favourite Marks & Spencer, including the return of the incredibly popular and bestselling gin snow globe with more bells and whistles than ever. M&S The sparkly tipple was a huge hit when it first launched in September last year, with shoppers going crazy for the festive gin bottle and clearing stores of all of their stock. After the retailer brought it back earlier this year in the form of a summery elderflower glittery gin liqueur, M&S has made the very wise decision to bring it back once again for the second festive period in a row, and the reaction has been just as intense. This time round, there are two flavours to choose from. Last year’s extremely popular clementine flavour M&S gin snow globe, which was described as ‘the gift of the season’, has returned alongside the ‘just-landed’ rhubarb flavour. Both come in the iconic globe style bottles with cork stoppers and are decorated with a Christmassy frosted glass design. M&S So far so good, except there’s more. Alongside being filled with edible 23 carat gold leaf flakes that float around when the bottle is turned upside down to create the snow globe effect, for 2020, M&S have pulled out all the stops and made the globe bottle actually light up. For starters, anything involving gin is always an instant win, so when you add a healthy dose of Christmas sparkle in the way of glittering gold flakes and lights, there’s no doubt it’ll be a show-stopping crowd-pleaser. Despite multiple restocks, customers across the country have had trouble tracking them down, and even if you do strike (edible) gold and find them, there’s now a limit of two bottles per customer to ensure everyone has a fair chance of adding one to their drinks trolley this Christmas.
