YOU Magazine Fashion Beauty Celebrity Health Life Relationships Horoscopes Food Interiors Travel Home Food 13 of the best festive drinks to stock up on in time for Christmas Day By You Magazine - December 20, 2019 Christmas is a time for friends, family, gifts and food… lots of food. Of course, you’ll need a drink or two to wash down all the turkey and mince pies – and for 2019, the supermarkets have certainly delivered on this front. When you’re gearing up to toast your loved ones with a tipple and celebrate the year gone by, classic wine, beer and spirits are all well and good, but this year there’s also a great selection of exceedingly festive elixirs on the shelves. We’re talking everything from Marks & Spencer’s glittery Clementine Gin Liqueur Snow Globe, which flew off the shelves and sold out despite launching all the way back in September, to Aldi’s Caramel & Hazelnut Cream Liqueur, which is essentially a toffee nut latte with added booze (spoiler: it’s absolutely delicious). Spice, fruit, vodka, rum; there are endless options this year to get excited about, whatever your taste. And if you usually serve up a post-dinner Baileys, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are lots of creamy dessert drinks that are good enough to skip pudding for. So crack out your best glasses and swizzle sticks, stock the freezer with plenty of ice and get ready to celebrate in style. Cheers! 13 delicious supermarket Christmas drinks to try this year Chocolate Orange Shimmering Gin Liqueur, £12, Morrisons, available in store Featuring zesty oranges and velvety chocolate, this is essentially a Terry’s Chocolate Orange in a bottle. It pours bronze and gold too, so is extra festive. Rubis Chocolate Wine, £8.99, Aldi Chocolate wine shouldn’t work, but when you consider it combines two of the world’s greatest things, you’ll soon realise it absolutely can. Clementine Gin Liqueur Snow Globe, £15, Marks & Spencer This is a really special bottle of drink. Blending gin and clementine juice, it also features 23 carat gold leaf pieces for an excellent snow globe effect. Perfect if you don’t want anything too typically ‘Christmassy’.
